TOUR 01

12 DAYS KAOKO – KUNENE – OVAHIMBA ADVENTURE

Depart from Swakopmund and travel along the Atlantic Coastline (Skeleton Coast), through the Namib Desert to central Damaraland and Kaokoland. Visit the spectacular Epupa Falls. Nights are spent camping under starry skies nearby the native Ovahimba villages in fascinating landscapes. Enjoy the kaleidoscope of diversity in the remote Marienfluss - and Hartmann's Valley; On your return journey you will camp in the Hoanib River, where the desert elephant can be sighted. The last day, stopover at the rock engravings and Burnt Mountain at Twyfelfontein before returning to Swakopmund.
KAOKO – KUNENE - OVAHIMBA ADVENTURE

Day 1: Departing from Swakopmund travelling along the Atlantic Coast towards the North. Visit the lichen fields near Wlotzka’s Baken before continuing to Henties Bay, a small holiday resort. Onwards to the seal colony at Cape Cross. After visiting the seals, the journey continues via Ugabmund to the southern Skeleton Coast Park to inspect a shipwreck. Enjoy a picnic lunch and cold refreshments then to the old deserted Toscanini Diamond Mine and also an abandoned oilrig. We leave the Skeleton Coast Park in the early afternoon via Springbokwasser and guests can experience the harsh transition from the Namib Desert to the Damaraland highlands with its impressive landscape and ragged valleys. Here one can perhaps sight the first springbok, zebra and oryx and, with some luck, the desert elephants. Overnight stay in at Palmwag Lodge, a rustic but refined bush lodge. After enjoying a drink and a delicious supper, guests can let the day’s impressions sink in.
Day 2: After a hearty breakfast, the journey continues through central Damaraland and the Khowarib Gorge and the Sesfontein Pass to Opuwo. Continue via Okongwati. Visit to an Ovahimba village. Learn about the ancient customs and way of life of this fascinating tribe and explore the village with its traditional huts. We continue our journey to the Epupa Falls – fascinating scenery, the mighty Kunene River, the densely vegetated riverbanks and the magical falls. Open camping under some shady palm trees along the bank of the Kunene River. Visit to the Epupa Falls.
Day 3: Today we explore the vicinity of the Epupa Falls. On today's excursion, we drive along the Kunene, into the beautiful landscapes around the Falls and visit an Ovahimba village. The rest of the day is at your own leisure. You can relax and enjoy the magic of Epupa. Camping overnight at the Kunene.
Day 4/5 AND 6:
After a hearty breakfast we set off. The next two and a half days take you through the fascinating landscape and valleys of central Kaokoland. Receive a friendly and warm welcome from the inhabitants of the Ovahimba settlement. D.A.S. is no longer a stranger here. Learn about the ancient customs and way of life of this fascinating tribe and explore the village with its traditional huts. Once again camping in the open with perhaps occasional visits from curious Ovahimba. In the afternoon of the fifth or the morning of the sixth day we cross the notorious Van Zyl’s Pass, a hand-hewn narrow trail which painstakingly winds its way through the largest mountains in this area. Thorough 4 x 4 driving skills and endurance are pre-requisites for the driver. At the end of the trail the valley opens into one of the most awe-inspiring and spectacular views this area has to offer - that across the Marienfluß. Here man can only feel dwarfed and helpless by comparison. At the Kunene River we come to the **Camp Syncro, overnighting in rustical 2bed huts - our home for the next nights.

Day 7 and 8:
During the next days the guests are indulged with guided 4 x 4 sightseeing tours, hikes in the gorges and valleys of the Marienfluss Valley and a visit to an Ovahimba settlement, in the vicinity of the camp. The Marienfluss Valley is unique and offers the guest the opportunity to enjoy nature at it's purest.
Day 9:
Today we say “Adieu Camp Syncro” and embark on our return journey to Palmwag. The drive progresses along the border of the Skeleton Coast Park, via Orupembe, an Ovahimba settlement, into the Khumib River. We traverse almost deserted contrasting landscapes, ranging from desert to the Kaokohighland. Camping in the open in the Khumib River.
Day 10:
After breakfast the journey continues in a southerly direction through the beautiful Hoarusib River Valley with its Ovahimba settlements and palm trees. With a bit of luck the desert elephant can be sighted. Camping in one of the many branches of the Hoanib River. Small elephant herds often stroll past the camp unhindered.
Day 11:
Break up camp, we then go on a game drive in search of the desert elephant. We continue in the Hoanib Riverbed towards Sesfontein. Encounter with game species such as zebra, oryx, giraffe, springbok and ostrich along the way. After a short sojourn at Sesfontein, a one-time Schutztruppen outpost with six water springs situated above the settlement, our journey takes us back to Palmwag Lodge. Overnight in bungalows.
Day 12: Early departure to Twyfelfontein to visit the rock engravings. We continue via the “Burnt Mountain” to Uis, a small mining town. As we pass the highest mountain of Namibia, the ± 2800 meter high Brandberg, it appears almost surreal. Return to Swakopmund in the late afternoon.

Day 1:

After enjoying a drink and a delicious supper, guests can luxuriate in the Lodge’s cosy atmosphere and let the day’s impressions sink in.
Day 2:
Departure en route to Sesfontein and Opuwo over the Sesfontein Pass. The trail continues in a westerly direction to Kaoko Otavi. After a visit there, the journey continues into the Hoarusib River Valley, encountering various Ovahimba families. Camping at the Hoarusib River under the Namibian starry skies.
Day 3:
Time and again one meets Ovahimba families and the guest will have, if not today, the opportunity to explore an Ovahimba village as well as a traditional hut. The guest learns about the old customs and way of life of this nomadic tribe. The Ovahimba gratefully accept sugar, confectionery, tobacco and other trinkets as gifts. Overnight open camp in the region of Orupembe, a large Ovahimba settlement.
Day 4:
We continue into the western part of Kaokoland, the Marienfluß Valley. Our destination today is Camp Syncro. Beautiful, rustical 2bed huts, in the relaxing atmosphere on the banks of the mighty Kunene River. This is our home for the next days.
Day 5:
Today guests are indulged with guided 4 x 4 sightseeing tour, walk in the gorges and valleys of the Marienfluß Valley and a visit to an Ovahimba family living in the vicinity of the Camp. The Marienfluß Valley is unique and offers the guests the opportunity to enjoy, in perfect solitude, nature at its purest. Overnight in Camp Syncro.
Day 6:
Today we say “Adieu Camp Syncro” and embark on our return journey. Via Rooidrom we continue our journey through the northwestern Kaokoland to Orupembe. We traverse almost deserted contrasting landscapes, ranging from desert to Kaoko-highland. Camping in the open.
Day 7:
After breakfast, we leave in southerly direction through the beautiful Hoarusib River valley with Ovahimba settlings and high palm trees. With some luck, will we encounter the desert elephant. Camping in one of the side arms of the Hoanib River. Often small herds of elephant pass the camp.
Day 8:
Break up camp and game drive in search for elephants. We continue through ragged valleys to Sesfontein. Visit of the old fort at Sesfontein - a one-time Schutztruppen outpost, which functions as a lodge nowadays and we return to Palmwag Lodge.
Day 9:
Early departure to visit the rock engravings at Twyfelfontein. We continue via the “Burnt Mountain” to Uis, a small mining town. As we pass the highest mountain of Namibia, the ± 2800 meter high Brandberg, it appears almost surreal. Return to Swakopmund in the late afternoon.

Day 1: Departing from a lodge in Damaraland to Opuwo over the Sesfontein Pass. The trail continues in a westerly direction and stops for a short visit at Kaoko Otavi, encountering various Ovahimba families en route. Camping on the banks of the Hoarusib River.
Day 2: Time and again one meets Ovahimba families and the guest will have, if not today, the opportunity to explore an Ovahimba village as well as a traditional hut. The guest learns about the old customs and way of life of this nomadic tribe. The Ovahimba gratefully accept sugar, confectionery, tobacco and other trinkets as gifts. Overnight open camp in the region of Orupembe, a large Ovahimba settlement.
Day 3:
We continue into the western part of Kaokoland into the Marienfluß Valley. Our destination today is Camp Syncro. Beautiful rustical 2bed huts in a relaxing atmosphere on the banks of the mighty Kunene River. This is our home for the next two nights.
Day 4:
Today guests are indulged with a guided 4x4 sightseeing tour, hike in the gorges and valleys of the Marienfluß Valley and visit an Ovahimba family in the vicinity of the camp. The Marienfluß Valley is unique and offers the guests the opportunity to enjoy, in perfect solitude; nature at it's purest.
Day 5:
Today we say “Adieu Camp Syncro” and embark on our return journey to Palmwag. Via Rooidrom the journey takes us through the northwestern Kaokoland to Orupembe. We traverse almost deserted contrasting landscapes, ranging from desert to the Kaoko-highland. With a bit of luck the Desert Elephant can be sighted. Camping in the open.
Day 6:
After breakfast the journey continues in a southerly direction through the beautiful Hoarusib River Valley with its Ovahimba settlements and palm trees. With a bit of luck the desert elephant can be sighted. Camping in one of the many branches of the Hoanib River. Small herds of elephant often stroll past the camp unhindered.
Day 7:
Break up camp and game drive in search for elephants. After a short sojourn at Sesfontein, a one-time Schutztruppen outpost which functions as a lodge nowadays, the journey takes us back to your lodge.

TOUR 04

8 DAYS KAOKO – OVAHIMBA EXPERIENCE

The safari begins in Swakopmund, travelling along the Atlantic coastline (Skeleton Coast), then through the Namib Desert to the Damaraland. The next days are spent camping in the wilderness. Enjoy the overwhelming landscapes of the Marienfluss, let yourself be enchanted by the Ovahimba tribes as well as herds of game, such as oryx, springbok, giraffe and the desert elephant.  Travelling back to Swakopmund via the rock engravings and Burnt Mountain at Twyfelfontein.

Day 1:

Day 2:
After breakfast at Palmwag Lodge the tour starts through central Damaraland and the Khowarib Gorge en route to Opuwo. In this breathtaking landscape one may meet the first Ovahimba, nomads who live according to ancient traditions in the northwest of the country. We continue in a westerly direction towards Kaoko Otavi. The trail continues further into western Kaokoland, this time our destination being the Hoarusib River Valley. This unique landscape is home to the Ovahimba, an ancient tribe, who still live according to old traditions and customs. A visit to a few Ovahimba settlements and families are a highlight. Camping in the open in the Hoarusib River Valley.
Day 3:
Today the track continues along the Hoarusib River in a northerly direction. A few Ovahimba families (large and small) are met here. The safari receives a warm, albeit slightly inquisitive welcome. In this region D.A.S. is no longer a stranger. Frequently the first aid box has to be brought out to treat injuries and illnesses and in conversation one learns more about the problems, the cattle and the trails. The Ovahimba gratefully accept sugar, confectionery and tobacco as gifts. Camping overnight near Etanga.
Day 4:
The trail becomes more difficult to negotiate. At a water installation boasting a hand pump the safari replenishes its water supply. Thereafter we continue further into the notorious Van Zyl’s Pass, a hand-hewn narrow trail that painstakingly winds its way through the largest mountains in this area. Thorough 4 x 4 driving skills and endurance are pre-requisites for the driver. At the end of the trail the valley opens into one of the most awe-inspiring and spectacular views this area has to offer - that across the Marienfluss Valley. Here man can only feel dwarfed and helpless by comparison. Depending on the weather, we camp in the open, either before or after the Pass.
Day 5:
Through the Marien River, with its spectacular landscape, we carry on via “Rooi Drum” and the Hartmann's Pass to Orupembe, an Ovahimba settlement. After a short break the trail leads into the Khumib River where one can enjoy the beautiful landscape and perhaps watch some game such as giraffe, oryx, ostrich, springbok. Camping in the Khumib riverbed.
Day 6:
The journey continues through the palm vegetated and Ovahimba inhabited Hoarusib Valley, where one can, with some luck, see the desert elephant. Thence via Purros, an older Ovahimba settlement into the Hoanib River Valley, the home of the desert elephant. Camping in one of the side branches of the Hoanib River. Occasionally small elephant herds wander past the camp at night.
Day 7: After breakfast the trip continues along the Hoanib River towards Sesfontein. Encounter various game such as zebra, oryx, springbok, giraffe, ostrich and jackal. At the waterhole in the river bed at Dubis the lucky observer can sometimes witness an elephant bath.
After a short sojourn at Sesfontein, a one-time Schutztruppen outpost with its six water springs situated above the settlement, our journey takes us back to Palmwag Lodge.
Day 8: Early departure to Twyfelfontein, to visit the rock engravings. Thereafter we continue via the “Burnt Mountain” to Uis, a deserted mining town. As you pass the highest mountain of Namibia, the ± 2800 meter high Brandberg, it appears almost surreal. Return to Swakopmund in the late afternoon.

4 DAYS DAMARALAND – Sponsor a Rhino Patrol

Depart from Swakopmund and travel along the Skeleton Coast into the contrasting landscapes of the Damaraland.  We join 'Save the Rhino Trust' on a rhino patrol.  Ideal game sightings, fascinating mountain- and desert landscapes.  With a visit to the Burnt mountain and the rock engravings at Twyfelfontein we return to Swakopmund.

Camping Tour
4 Days/ 3 Nights

Day 1:
Our guide meets the guests at their hotel in the morning. From Swakopmund the safari takes us into the Damaraland, visiting the lichen fields at Wlotzka's Baken and the seal colony at Cape Cross en route. We turn of towards Brandberg West, our destination for tonight is Fly's Camp, run by SRT- 'Save the Rhino Trust'. Camping overnight in 2Man tents (Fullboard).
Day 2: After breakfast we start the day with a scenic drive into these contrasting beautiful landscapes of the Damaraland/ Ugab region. Nature lovers and hobby photographers will be richly rewarded, with a possibility to see desert elephant. Around noon we meet up with the SRT Patrol group, joining them on their routine work. The 'rhino' area has to be guarded by regular patrols and we will contribute to the protection and preservation of the environment and this endangered species. Camping overnight under the Namibian stars (Fullboard).
Day 3:
We continue our patrol with SRT, learning more about their field work and what it entails to protect and preserve the black rhino population. Apart from savanna game such as kudu, oryx, ostrich, springbok, giraffe - with some luck we might encounter the endangered black rhino. Late Midday we say 'farewell' to SRT and travel onwards to Twyfelfontein. Camping overnight (Fullboard).
Day 4: In the morning we take a guided walk to the superb collection of rock-engravings at Twyfelfontein, visiting the Burnt Mountain and continuing the safari via the town of Uis, passing the ±2800m high Brandberg massive, travelling back to Swakopmund. Arrival in the late afternoon,

TOUR 06

6 DAYS EXCITING DAMARALAND

Travel from Swakopmund along the Atlantic Coastline (Skeleton Coast), view the Welwitschia fields and enter the unspoilt canyons of the Ugab  and Huab river. Good chances of sighting the desert elephant and black rhino.  Three nights camping, the next nights at the rustical Palmwag Lodge in Damaraland. A day excursions to Sesfontein and the surrounding area. Early morning departure takes us back to Swakopmund via Twyfelfontein to visit the rock engravings and the Burnt Mountain.

6 days, 5 nights

Day 1: Departing from Swakopmund along the Atlantic Coast towards the North. Visit the lichen fields near Wlotzka’s Baken before continuing to Henties Bay, a small holiday resort. Onwards to the seal colony at Cape Cross. After visiting the seals, the journey continues towards the Brandberg. We visit the Welwitschia plains in the vicinity of the Ugab. We encounter game species, e.g. oryx, springbok, kudu, ostrich - and with some luck we might sight desert elephant. We set up camp in the Ugab River. While our guide prepares dinner the guest can enjoying a drink at the camp fire.
Day 2: In the morning the trip continues through this mineral rich area, along old prospectors’ trails, past old mines and abandoned farms. When you look back, the Brandberg now resembles a toy mountain. The trail traverses endless plains, which change into huge oceans of grass after heavy rainfalls, through red sand dunes, and eventually leads to the ancient Doros Crater. Here the lucky guest might be lucky enough to sight some of the endangered Black Rhino on the eternal search for good grazing or quietly resting in the shade of a huge acacia tree. It is astonishing how these animals can survive in such an isolated area with little or no water. We visit the Petrified Forest - still almost complete, these massive tree trunks, now petrified poles, merge into a rock wall. Every detail is recognizable. In the late afternoon, the campsite is erected in a wind-sheltered gorge close to the Huab River.
Day 3:
In the early morning the drive continues into the Huab River Valley. The morning sun effectively enhances the splendour of this part of Namibia. The Riverbed is surrounded by high mountains and gorges. The journey continues in the riverbed and often-inquisitive oryx, springbok, zebra and ostrich accompany the tour group. A surprise lurks around every corner - one landscape being more beautiful than the next. The trail ends at the Torra Bay - Khorixas road junction. This road also forms the southern border of the approximately 5000 square kilometre Concession Area of Palmwag Lodge, the destination for the day. Camping in the Concession Area.
Day 4: Depart and continue in the direction of Palmwag Lodge. A multitude of savannah game such as zebra, ostrich, kudu, oryx, springbok, jackal, hyena, giraffe and often the desert elephant and black rhino can be sighted here. From the behaviour of the wildlife it is immediately noticeable that here hunting is prohibited. The game is peaceful and remains not bothered by the new visitors. The absence of humans, roads and civilization, allows for optimal game and bird watching. Camping in the Palmwag Lodge Concession.
Day 5: After breakfast we continue the journey towards the Hoanib River. With some luck we might sight desert elephant. We reach Fort Sesfontein, a one-time German fort which has been restored and today functions as a lodge. The old military cemetery with its lonely graves conjures up memories of the German colonial period. Alleviate the midday heat in a natural “pool” of the Ongongo Waterfall near Warmquelle, where the crystal clear water of the pool is inviting and refreshing. After a short rest, we return to Palmwag Lodge. Overnight in 2Bed bungalows.
Day 6: Early departure to Twyfelfontein to visit the rock engravings. Thereafter we continue via the “Burnt Mountain” to Uis, a deserted mining town. As you pass the highest mountain of Namibia, the ± 2800 meter high Brandberg, it appears almost surreal. Return to Swakopmund in the late afternoon.

TOUR 07

4 DAYS EPUPA – ENCHANTING WATER SCENES

The tour starts at a lodge in the Damaraland, travelling into the Kaokoland to several Ovahimba villages and to the amazing Epupa Falls on the mighty Kunene River. Spend the nights camping on the banks of the Kunene River. Nature walks to explore the vicinity of the falls. The last day takes us back to your lodge via Fort Sesfontein and surrounding areas.

Day 1:
Departing in the morning from a lodge in Damaraland we travel via the Khowarib Gorge and the Sesfontein Pass to Opuwo. The path continues on via Okongwati, visiting an Ovahimba settlement en route. During this visit the guest learns about the old customs and traditions of the Ovahimba tribe. Onwards to the Epupa Falls - a fascinating landscape, the mighty Kunene River, overgrown banks and magical waterfalls. We set up camp under the palm trees at the Kunene River. Explore the waterfalls and enjoy an unforgettable sundowner on one of the viewing points on top of the Falls.
Day 2: Today we take the opportunity to explore the vicinity of the Epupa Falls. We stroll down the Kunene River, visit a Himba family and have time to experience the amazing atmosphere. The rest of the afternoon is at own leisure - Camping overnight at Epupa.
Day 3:
After breakfast enjoy a last walk along the waterfalls, then onwards in a southerly direction through the fascinating landscapes of the central Kaokoland towards Opuwo. We travel further south until we reach the Hoanib River, home of the desert elephant. Camping under Namibia's starry skies.
Day 4:
After breakfast enjoy a day trip to Sesfontein and its surroundings. Visit one of the 6 springs at the mountain slopes of Sesfontein (hence the name “Sesfontein”) and a one-time German fort which has been restored and today functions as a lodge. The old military cemetery with its lonely graves conjures up memories of the German Colonial period.
Alleviate the midday heat in a natural “pool” of the Ongongo Waterfall near Warmquelle, where the crystal clear water of the pool is inviting and refreshing. An ideal venue for lunch!
The return trip leads through the Khowarib Gorge - a fairytale gorge through which the Hoanib River has laboriously wound its way. After a short rest we return to the lodge.

3 DAYS MORO-MORO SAFARI

Travel from a lodge in Damaraland via Sesfontein Pass to Kaoko Otavi and on towards the Hoarusib River; spend two nights camping under marvelous starry skies. Experience the traditions and way of life of the Ovahimba people. Go in search of the desert elephant along the banks of the Hoarusib River. The return journey takes us via Fort Sesfontein and its surrounding highlights to your lodge.
3 DAYS MORO – MORO SAFARI

Day 1:
Departing from a lodge in Damaraland - travelling to Opuwo over the Sesfontein Pass. The trail continues in a westerly direction to Kaoko Otavi. During the encounter with various Ovahimba families the guests learn about the customs and traditions of the Ovahimba Nomads. Camping under the Namibian stars on the banks of the Hoarusib River.
Day 2:
After breakfast the trip continues in the Hoarusib riverbed. The valley widens and the vegetation and tree-growth becomes more profuse. A unique landscape, where the Ovahimba tribes still live according to ancient traditions. The reception from the Ovahimba is friendly and most of them are willing to engage in conversation. Whilst visiting the Ovahimba, guests learn more about their way of life. The tribe gratefully accepts sugar, confectionery and tobacco as gifts. Camping overnight near Purros – with some luck we might sight desert elephant.
Day 3:
Early morning departure, searching for desert elephant. Continuing towards Sesfontein, a one-time German fort which has been restored and today functions as a lodge. The old military cemetery with its lonely graves conjures up memories of the German Colonial period.

5 DAY OVAHIMBA RENDEZVOUS

Depart from a lodge in Damaraland via Sesfontein Pass to central Kaokoland.  Experience the Ovahimba nomads living in the area. Spend the nights camping under Namibia's starry skies.  Possible encounters with the famous desert elephant in the Hoarusib and Hoanib river. After these highlights, the journey takes us back via Fort Sesfontein and surrounding area.

5 Days, 4 Nights

Day 1:
Departing from a lodge in the Damaraland region we travel via Khowarib, Sesfontein Pass in a northerly direction in the region of Opuwo, the centre of Kaokoland. The trail continues through an Ovahimba inhabited area. Overnight camp is erected on the banks of the Hoarusib River.
Day 2:
The journey continues along the river. Time and again one meets Ovahimba families and the guest will have, if not today, the opportunity to explore an Ovahimba village as well as a traditional hut. The guest learns about the old customs and way of life of this nomadic tribe. The Ovahimba gratefully accept sugar, confectionery, tobacco and other trinkets as gifts. Overnight camp near Orupembe.
Day 3: Today’s drive continues in a southerly direction to the Khumib River. The vegetation grows sparse - large grass plains and savannah game adorns this region. In the afternoon we cross a highland and can relish another enchanting view of the Hoarusib River, Ovahimba can often be encountered. The desert elephant often visit the Hoarusib River Valley and with some luck we have the opportunity to watch these animals in close proximity. Overnight at a communal camping site.
Day 4: We gradually leave the region of the Ovahimba. Our destination is the Hoanib River with its abundant game - amongst others the desert elephant. The Hoanib River Valley is the northern border of the approximately 5000 square kilometre Concession Area of Palmwag Lodge. Short game drive into the valley with optimal wildlife encounters. Sighting the desert elephant is an absolute highlight of the day. Overnight camp in one of the branches of the Hoanib River.
Day 5: We embark on the return journey through the Hoanib riverbed onwards to Fort Sesfontein and its surroundings. Visit one of the 6 springs at the mountain slopes of Sesfontein (hence the name “Sesfontein”) and a one-time German fort which has been restored and today functions as a lodge. The old military cemetery with its lonely graves conjures up memories of the German Colonial period.

2 DAY NAMIB DESERT EXCURSION

Travel from Swakopmund along the coast to the seal colony at Cape Cross and then on to Omdel Dam. At the Spitzkoppe, participate in climbing and walking excursions and enjoy a typical Namibian sundowner at your campsite. Overnight under starry skies. Return to Swakopmund via the Welwitschia Plains and the bizarre Moon landscape of the Namib desert.

2 days/ 1 night

Day 1:
We depart from Swakopmund in the morning travelling north along the coast to Henties Bay, visiting the lichen fields at Wlotzka’s Baken. After a short drive through Henties Bay, a small holiday resort on the Atlantic, continue to the seal colony at Cape Cross. Between 80 000 and 100 000 seals have settled here over the years and excellent studies of these animals can be made. The trip continues to the Omdel Dam in the Omaruru River. A short picnic lunch break under the shady trees in the riverbed. Continue in the riverbed over the plains of the Namib Desert to Spitzkoppe, a granite island berg in the middle of the desert, also known as the Namibian “Matterhorn”. A short climbing expedition and hike through the gorges of the Spitzkoppe. Sundowner with fantastic sunsets and spectacular view over the western Namib Desert. Camping in the open.
Day 2:
Experience a fascinating sunrise with a unique colour display on the “red” granite rocks. The journey continues towards Swakopmund. The trail winds through the Swakop River, past the Oasis Goanikontes, to view the Welwitschia plants on the Welwitschia Plain. Continue through the gorges and valleys of the Swakop Valley, the Moon landscape and back to Swakopmund. Stop at the “Groaning Dune”, close to the ocean. Return to Swakopmund in the afternoon.

TOUR 11

3 DAY SESRIEM-SOSSUSVLEI SAFARI

The safari starts in Swakopmund. Travel through the Namib Naukluft Park, past the “Blutkuppe” to the Kuiseb Canyon. Two camping overnights at the Sesriem campsite. Experience unforgettable sunrise at Sossusvlei, amazing colour kaleidoscopes and the ghostly looking Dead Vlei. A nature walk in the Sesriem Canyon to round off your day. The return journey takes you through the Kuiseb Canyon to view the wide variety of seabirds at the Walvis Bay lagoon. The tour ends in Swakopmund.

Camping Tour
3 days, 2 nights

Day 1:
Departing early morning from Swakopmund through the Namib Naukluft Park. Short visit and rest at Blutkuppe, a granite massif set in an impressive landscape. Continue via Hotsas and Ganab, two water holes in the Park, and enjoy the opportunity to watch savannah game such as oryx, zebra, springbok and ostrich. Picnic lunch at the impressive Kuiseb Canyon with its breathtaking views. Continue along the edge of the Namib Desert via Solitaire to Sesriem. Camping overnight on the sight at Sesriem.
Day 2: Departure before sunrise for the trip to Sossusvlei, a dried up lake surrounded by the highest dunes in the world. Experience a spectacular sunrise full of nature’s contrasts and an unforgettable display of colour. Continue on to the “Dead Vlei”, a dry “vlei” with eerie, dead Camel Thorn trees. After a picnic lunch enjoy a short hike in the Sesriem Canyon. We end off the day with a refreshing sundowner. Camping overnight at Sesriem.
Day 3:
After breakfast return to Walvis Bay via the Kuiseb Canyon. Visit the lagoon with possible bird viewing such as flamingo, pelicans, sea gulls etc. Return to Swakopmund along the coastline, arriving in the early afternoon.

TOUR 12

10 DAYS KAUDOM/ CAPRIVI TOUR

From Windhoek we travel via Waterberg into the the formerly known Bushmanland.  Spend a day with the San.  We continue to explore the untouched game of the the Kaudom Game Reserve, visit the Popa rapids, as well as the water-rich area of the Caprivi/ Kwando.  Fantastic game- and bird watching in Bwabwata Game Park.  The return journey takes us via Rundu, the Okavango, back to Windhoek.

Camping Tour

Day 1:
Our guide meets the guest's in the morning at the Windhoek International airport. The journey takes us through the farmlands of Hochfeld and Otjisondu to the Waterberg Plateau Park. The plateau, with its sheer orange cliffs, rises unexpectedly above the acacia savanna. We explore the vicinity of the plateau on the well-marked walking trails. Overnight camping in 2Man tents at Waterberg (Fullboard).
Day 2 and 3:
Onwards we travel to Tsumkwe in the north-eastern part of Namibia, formerly know as Bushmanland. The next day we join an excursion to the Ju/'hoan Bushman Community in the Naye-Naye Conservancy. On this guided tour we learn about the history and traditions of the san and how they have learned to survive in this harsh environment. We visit a nearby San village, where you can buy some handmade curios and see traditional dances. Two camping overnights at Tsumkwe Lodge (FullBoard).
Day 4: We leave Tsumkwe after breakfast and head toward the Kaudom Nature Reserve - off-the beaten-track. Only accessible by four-wheel drive, the Kaudom Nature Reserve is home to herds of elephant, roan, eland... and also offers a broad spectrum of fauna and flora. With some luck we might see all of the “Big Five”. Camping in the Kaudom Park (Full Board).
Day 5: The journey takes us further into the Caprivi. Our destination today is the Mahangu Safari Lodge, near the Mahango Game Park. We visit the Popa Falls, a series of rapids in the Okavango River, and take a drive into the Mahango Park. Ending of the day with a boat trip on the Okavango, camping overnight at the Mahangu Safari Lodge (Fullboard).
Day 6 and 7: The next days we spent at the Kwando, in the eastern Caprivi. This water-abundant area is renown for its hippo's as well as a variety of game and top birding spots. The Bwabwata Game Park is a sanctuary to herds of antelopes e.g. red lechwe, eland, as well as buffalo and elephant herds. Two camping nights at Mazambala Island Lodge (Fullboard).
Day 8 and 9: We travel back into the Caprivi strip, along the Okavango to the N'Kwasi Lodge near Rundu. Camping at N'kwasi, we continue the return journey via the towns of Grootfontein and Otavi to Khorab Lodge. Enjoy the rustic atmosphere at Khorab, relax at the pool and let the impressions of the last days sink in. Camping at Khorab Lodge (Fullboard).
Day 10: After a hearty breakfast we leave Khorab. The road takes us back via Otjiwarongo and Okahandja, with a stop-over at the woodcrafters market, to Windhoek. Arriving in the afternoon – our guide brings the guest's to their hotel.

14 DAYS 'ALL AROUND NAMIBIA' SAFARI

From/to Windhoek; Experience the open spaces of the Kalahari and contrasting beauty of Namibia's South.  Visit Lüderitz, the Sossusvlei dunes of the Namib desert, the coastal resort Swakopmund and the fascinating mountain landscape of the Damaraland.  To end of an unforgettable journey we spent the last days on game drives in the famous Etosha National Park, with its large diversity of animal and bird species.

Combined Camping/Lodge Tour

Day 1:
Our guide meets the guest's at the Windhoek International airport. From here we travel into the southern parts of Namibia. Our destination today is the Intu Kalahari Reserve, lying in the outskirts of the Kalahari Desert. Time-bound we will join either an afternoon guided Bushman-walk or a scenic morning drive into these parts of the Kalahari. Camping overnight at !Xoo Camp (Fullboard).
Day 2: We continue our journey to the awe-inspiring FishRiver Canyon, the second largest canyon in the world. En route we visit the Quiver Tree Forest at Keetmanshoop. We end off the day with a sundowner on one of the view-points. As far as 500m the rocks drop steeply from the plateau to create an extraordinary spectacle of nature. Camping at Cañon Roadhouse (Full board).
Day 3: From the FishRiver we continue due west to Klein-Aus Vista. Situated in the Aus Mountains, neighbouring the Namib Naukluft Park and Sperrgebiet, where Namib Desert Horses roam, we explore this part of the magical South. Camping overnight at Klein-Aus Vista (Full board).
Day 4: Our journey takes us through die 'Diamond Prohibited Zone' – a moon landscape out of sand and bizarre rock formations – to Lüderitz Bay. In the afternoon we visit the 'Ghost Town' Kolmanskop, where the first Diamond were found in Namibia. Overnight at the Guesthouse Zur Waterkant (Dinner not included).
Day 5: After a early morning excursion to take a tour through Namibia's oldest German settlement and visiting Diaz Point, we leave Lüderitz and head back towards Aus, travelling via Helmeringshausen into the Tiras Mountain Conservancy, to the Duwisib Castle. The castle lies nestled between the rolling hills south-west from Maltahöhe. Overnight camping at Landsberg (Fullboard).
Day 6: After breakfast we break up camp and drive through the fascinating and contrasting landscape of the Namib Rand to Sesriem. In the afternoon we explore the Sesriem Canyon, a 30m deep canyon carved through layers of conglomerate by the Tsauchab River. Camping at Sesriem Campsite (Full board).
Day 7: Early morning we start our excursion into the Sossusvlei. Surrounded by majestic curvaceous dunes the pan and surrounding dunes are especially breathtaking in the early morning hours. Through the grayish plains of the Namib Naukluft Park we continue our journey towards the Atlantic Coast. Passing the Kuiseb Canyon, we travel via Walvis Bay to Swakopmund. Palm avenues and historical buildings contribute to the attractiveness of Swakopmund. Overnight accommodation at Hotel Deutsches Haus (B&B only).
Day 8: The day is at own leisure. Swakopmund offers various activities from Dolphin Cruises at the Walvis Bay Yacht Club, Scenic Flights, Desert Tours, Quad Bike and Dune Boarding excursions – just to name a few. There is also the Museum, Aquarium, Snake Park and Craft Market.. if you just feel like browsing through town. Our guide will assist you with booking requests. Overnight at Hotel Pension Deutsches Haus (B&B only).
Day 9: From Swakopmund we travel further north, along the Atlantic Coast. We visit the lichen fields at Wlotzka's Baken and the seal colony at Cape Cross. At Ugabmund we enter the southern Skeleton Coast Park, visiting a shipwreck and an abandoned oil-rig en route. As we continue from Springbokwasser, the landscape changes from the Namib Desert into the mountainous scenery of the Damaraland. Camping overnight at the Palmwag Lodge (Fullboard).
Day 10:
After breakfast we break up camp. From Palmwag Lodge we travel towards Sesfontein, entering the Khowarib Gorge at Khowarib. Through this spectacular mountain range, forming the origin of the Hoanib River, we travel towards Hobatere Lodge. We set up camp and end the day with a sundowner, watching the game coming for a drink at the waterhole from the hide. Camping at Hobatere Campsite (Full board).
Day 11, 12 and 13:
The road leads us via the western gate at Otjivasondu into the Etosha National Park, one of Africa's great game parks. We spent the days on game drives visiting various waterholes. Etosha is a sanctuary to large populations of striking black-faced impala, elephant as well as black and white rhino, lions and a profusion of other animals and birds. From dense bush to open plains the landscape offers a magnificent variety of scenery. Camping overnight in Okaukuejo and Namutoni Rest Camp (Full board).
Day 14:
We leave Etosha at the Namutoni Gate. Via Tsumeb, Otjiwarongo the return journey takes us towards Windhoek. En route we visit the Lake Otjikoto – which became watery grave of German armaments during World War 1. Picnic lunch en route. At Okahandja we stop over at the woodcrafts market, arriving in Windhoek in the late afternoon.
