Verdite information

The green stone from Southern Africa, found in t he Eastern Transvaal and said to be oldest identifiable exposed rock on the surface of the earth, formed 3500 million years ago. The tribesmen of the area used the stone for jewellery, carving and witch doctors made a preparation from the powdered stone which is believed to increase fertility.
