Basse Provence, a four star rated country guest house is situated on an historical working wine farm in the picturesque valley of Franschhoek. This landmark Cape Dutch manor sits invitingly amongst the vines and 300 year old oak trees. The interior is a fine blend of traditional Huguenot heritage and South African culture. The Manor House two luxury en-suite bedrooms on a bed and breakfast basis. Bedrooms are on the first floor and have breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards and mountains. Manor 1 is totally self contained, having its own private entrance. Guest Cottage - Basse Provence is proud to offer a new, superbly refurbished two bedroom cottage with spacious en-suite facilities. Set within the oak trees on their historic Cape Dutch wine farm, it offers a large terrace and private garden and full use of the guesthouse pool. Establishment take great pride in our hospitality and establishment think it shows in our country house with warm, welcoming rooms and common areas. The country house consists of 4 bedrooms two upstairs, The Jacob Room and The Elizabeth Room which is the honeymoon suite (pictured below) and two downstairs, The Gideon and Paulina Rooms. For larger groups the recently refurbished Manor House with 3 beautiful rooms built in 1855 is also available.
Every room has en-suite bathrooms and separate showers. The views from all the rooms are simply stunning and look out onto the vineyards and the Franschhoek valley. Full English breakfasts are served in the dining room overlooking the pool and vineyard. The Elizabeth Room is situated upstairs under the thatch and poplar beams of our country house. The room has its own private entrance and is equipped with air-conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities, television and DStv. A luxurious king sized bed with en-suite bathroom are features of this lovely room. Beds are extra length with the option of double or twin. Views from here are simply stunning and overlook the vineyard, river and onto the mountain. A honeymoon delight!
The Jacob room, a large upstairs bedroom in the country house, boasts an en-suite bathroom with roll top bath and a separate shower. The beds are extra length with the option of king size double, or twin. The room is equipped with air conditioning, television, DStv, tea and coffee making facilities. Truly a country haven.
The Paulina room is a charming downstairs bedroom in the country house. Solid beams support the ceiling and create a lovely warm atmosphere. The en-suite has a bath, shower and heated towel rail. The room is equipped with air conditioning, television, DStv, tea and coffee making facilities. Beds are extra length with the option of king size double, or twin. Lovely views of the vineyards and mountains compliment the tranquil setting.
The Gideon Room welcomes visitors with a simply decorated but charmingly appointed en-suite bedroom in the country house. Located downstairs, it offers air-conditioning, television, DStv, tea and coffee making facilities. Beds are extra length with option of king size double, or twin. Views of the surrounding vineyards are just breathtaking.
