Birds include fish eagles, hornbills, Goliath herons, paddle-billed storks, green pigeons, Loerie's (3 species), narina trogons etc. It is probably South Africa's best bird viewing area with over 520 species having been identified here. Unspoilt beaches, on which turtles lay their eggs, stretch for many hundreds of kilometres northward. Cape Vidal offers excellent snorkelling, protected swimming and your drive through Cape Vidal takes you through a game park with hikes, viewpoints, sub-tropical forest and bush.
