Game drives, Deep sea fishing, Golf tours, Birding, Cultural visits, Scuba diving, Crocodile farm visits, Canoeing, Horse riding, Tiger fishing and Aerial walkway. Currently under development is the "bird and small animal sanctuary", in conjunction with the local bird and wildlife associations, as well as experts in nature conservation.
The entire estate will be fenced off - game reserve style - enabling us to re-introduce small animals and re-habilitate the forest to its previous pristine state. By doing so, hosts hope to attract even more birds to compliment the already abundant bird life and may even be able to find a mate for the lonesome goliath heron. The sanctuary will encompass 18 hectares with designated eco-trails, footpaths, hides and viewpoints.
Hotel Facilities: Wine & Dine: A stunning view to complement a sumptuous meal, coupled with superb service and a romantic setting paves the way for Protea Hotel Imvubu Lodge as the venue of choice for the discerning diner. The restaurant, 300 square meters in extent, has stylist timber furnishings and a spectacular view over Lake Menywa, offering fine dining and breakfast, either buffet or a la carte, for in-house GUESTS (from 0h30 - 10h00) and is also open to all visitors wanting a lunch (12h00 - 15h00) or special dinner (18h30 - 22h00). Tuck into cuisine with a traditional South African flair and a delicate twist of culture. (No dinner available on Sundays).
The newly created Sundowner Deck and Bar, "In the Reeds", offers a more secluded and private function area for celebrating a special event closer to nature, with a view of Lake Menywa and a possible sighting of the crocodile which roams the lake. Leisure activities includes nature walks and a swimming pool on site.
