Baines' Camp Ngamiland
Botswana

Accommodation Botswana

Overlooking the Boro River and a permanent lagoon teeming with wildlife, Baines' Camp, sister to the renowned Stanley's Camp, is a new and exclusive lodge tucked into the remote wilderness of the Okavango Delta. Named after the 19th Century explorer and artist whose work is displayed throughout the camp, Baines' lies in a private concession bordering the Moremi Reserve and offers guests excellent and varied game viewing from land, water and sky.
Surrounded by glorious waterscapes, the camp features five elevated suites set on platforms at tree line level. Classically luxurious, each spacious bedroom has a fully mobile four poster bed that can be wheeled outside for nights under the star-studded African skies. These star beds, the first in the Delta, will delight astronomers whilst during the day, hammocks swinging in the shade and a swimming pool provide every opportunity for relaxation.
The peaceful waterways and unspoilt scenery are the perfect backdrop for tranquil mokoro or motorboat safaris that often last into the evening. However, it is walking with semi-habituated elephant or riding high over the plains in a hot air balloon that are the real attractions of Baines'. Tranquil mornings spent gazing down over the game as the day breaks or walking in the shadow of an elephant are unforgettable experiences.
