Itinerary 10 days Kaokoland.
Day 01: The safari starts after breakfast from your hotel in
Swakopmund. We proceed via Henties Bay, Uis and Kamanjab to a farm on the
border to Kaokoland, for overnight camping.
Day 02: The journey continues via Opuwo, where the first Himba people
can be seen, to Epupa Falls at the Kunene, which river is the border between
Namibia and Angola. Overnight camping.
Day 03: The day will be spend at leisure, walking along the river,
searching for crocodiles, watching the many different plants and trees which
grow in this lush but harsh terrain. Today you can meet men, women and children
of the nomadic tribe, the Himba. Overnight camping at the river.
Day 04: We leave this remarkable paradise behind us and the road takes
us through Opuwo towards Kaoko-Otavi, where we turn south. Overnight camping en
route.
Day 05: Before we reach Sesfontein, with its history, you will see the
resurrection bush which only grows between 900m and 1200m above sea level.
Through the endless plains of Giribis with "fairy circles", we reach
the seasonal Hoanib river where we will put up camp.
Day 06: Awake before sunrise and today we are searching for the famous
Desert Elephants. Other species of game might also be seen, not to mention the
rich insect and bird life. Overnight camping at the river.
Day 07: Through the stony red Damara hills we will stop en route at
plants, like Pachypodium and Euphorbia. Beautiful sedimentary mesa`s and butte`s
carved away by wind and sand form stunning landscapes and colour contrasts.
Arrival at Palmwag Lodge for overnight at the lodge.
Day 08: Today you can explore hundreds of prehistoric rock engravings
at Twyfelfontein. Overnight camping at the Aba-Huab river.
Day 09: The gravel road leads us to the massive Brandberg mountain. You
can either visit the rock paintings or search for minerals, agates and crystals.
Overnight camping at the Amis ravine.
Day 10: The road takes us through the Messum river with uncountable
Welwitschia mirabilis, to Cape Cross to view the Cape Fur Seal. The safari ends
in Swakopmund during the afternoon.
Code KKS. West Kaokoland safari
Itinerary 10 days Kaokoland/Serra Cafema
Day 01: The Safari starts after breakfast from your hotel in
Swakopmund. We drive via Uis to Khorixas. At the crafts centre you might find
the odd souvenir. Past the Petrified Forest we arrive at the Palmwag Lodge for
overnight.
Day 02: We leave the gravel road and the track leads towards Kaoko-Otavi,
where we will put up camp in the Hoarusib riverbed. Maybe you can spot the
little tree squirrel, jumping up and down the palm tree.
Day 03: Colourful landscape and rough terrains take us info the deep
Kaokoland. Relax at sundowner, while your Guide prepares a delicious meal on the
open fire. Overnight camping.
Day 04: Today we arrive at the Kunene river, which forms the border
between Namibia and Angola. Sundowner cruise per boat on the Kunene. Overnight
at the Serra Cafema Camp, which also offers a refreshing swimming pool.
Day 05: Different activities are offered, e.g., angling in the river, a
very adventurous drive across the dunes to a big water fall, boat trips on the
Kunene. Possibility to view some very large crocodiles. Overnight at Serra
Cafema.
Day 06: We leave this Oasis behind and through seasonal riverbeds and
past sandstones, carved by wind and sand, forming monuments and remains of
years gone by, we arrive at Orupembe. Here we fill up our water reservoirs.
Overnight camping in the vicinity.
Day 07: Through the endless plains of Giribis with "fairy
circles" we reach the seasonal Hoanib river, home of the famous desert elephants, for overnight camping. Enjoy a real African night under the clear
stars of the southern sky.
Day 08: Before sunrise we start searching for the desert elephants. Other species of game might also be seen, not to mention the rich
insect and bird life. Overnight camping at the river.
Day 09: Past Sesfontein, the six fountains, we drive through the
beautiful Damaraland to Twyfelfontein. Prehistoric rock engravings whisper
ancient stories. Camping at the Aba-Huab river.
Day 10: Today we visit the "Burnt Mountain" and the
"Organ Pipes". The safari ends during the afternoon in Swakopmund.
Code EKC. Kaokoland - Damaraland safari
Itinerary 11 days Kaokoland and Damaraland safari
Day 01: The Safari starts after breakfast from your hotel in
Swakopmund. We proceed via Henties Bay, Uis and Kamanjab to a farm on the border
of Kaokoland, for overnight camping.
Day 02: After breakfast the journey continues via Opuwo, where the
first Himba people can be seen to Epupa Falls at the Kunene river, which forms
the border between Namibia and Angola. Overnight camping.
Day 03: The day will be spend at leisure, walking along the river,
searching for crocodiles, watching many different species of birds and
admiring plants and trees which grow in this lush but harsh terrain. Overnight
camping by the river.
Day 04: We leave this remarkable paradise behind us. The real adventure
starts as we drive slowly but surely on 4x4 tracks into the deep Kaokoland.
Overnight camping at Otjitanda, a Himba village. Maybe we succeed in making
contact with these proud and untouched people.
Day 05: Through seasonal riverbeds and past sandstones, carved by wind
and sand, forming monuments and remains of years gone by, we arrive at Orupembe.
Here we fill up our water reservoirs. Overnight camping in the vicinity.
Day 06: Through the endless plains of Giribis with "fairy circles",
we drive to the land of the famous desert elephants. Overnight camping at the
seasonal Hoanib river. Enjoy a real African night under the clear stars of the
southern sky.
Day 07: Early morning rise and today we are searching for the
desert elephants roaming through the canyons of the Hoanib. Other species of
game might also be seen, not to mention the rich insect and bird life. Overnight
camping at the river.
Day 08: Past Sesfontein, which village played an important role in
early years, the gravel road takes us through the stony red Damaraland to
Palmwag Lodge for overnight at the Lodge.
Day 09: We leave the main road and the little track takes us into the
lonely desert. Past rocky landscape we reach an Oasis with ancient rock
engravings. Overnight camping at the canyon.
Day 10: A picturesque panorama stretches for miles and miles. Here you
get the feeling to be the only person in the world. Past Gai-As with mysterious
ruins, we arrive at the Ugab river for overnight camping.
Day 11: The road takes us through the Messum river with
uncountable Welwitschia mirabilis, to Cape Cross to view the Cape Fur
seals. Close photography is possible. The Safari ends in Swakopmund during the
afternoon.
Code CD04. North - East safari
Itinerary 15 days Bushmenland/Khaudum/Victoria Falls
Day 01: This adventurous safari starts after breakfast from your hotel in
Swakopmund. Via Usakos and Omaruru we drive to the beautiful Waterberg Plateau
Park for overnight at the Bernabe de la Bat Rest Camp.
Day 02: Today we arrive at Bushmenland, know for its wilderness
atmosphere. The landscape varies from dry sandveld to panveld. Different tribes
of bushmen today call this country their home. Their way of living has changed
dramatically during the past 20 years. Overnight camping.
Day 03: We enter the Khaudum Game Park with our Land Rover being
constantly engaged in 4x4 to administer the long stretches of very loose
sand. Overnight camping at Sikaretti. Spotted Hyenas are regular visitors to
this camp.
Day 04: On our game drive through the tree savanna we might encounter
any of the many species of game, e.g., tsessebe, roan, eland, elephant, lion,
leopard and more. Enjoy a real African sunset in the bush, while our guide
prepares a delicious meal on the open fire. Overnight camping.
Day 05: Awake to the singing of hundreds of different species of birds.
Game viewing at different waterholes. Overnight camping.
Day 06: We exit the Khaudum Game park and drive along the Kavango
river, which forms the border between Namibia and Botswana, to Popa Falls.
Along the river the local Kavango people catch fish with funnel-shaped fishing
baskets or by spear fishing. Overnight camping at Popa Falls.
Day 07: Game driving and walking in the Mahango National Park, being a
24 462 ha area, squeezed between the Botswana border and the Kavango river.
Hippo and crocodile enjoy a rich life in the Kavango river. Elephants move into
Mahango from Angola, Zambia and western Caprivi. Overnight camping at Popa
Falls.
Day 08: Through the dense bush of the Caprivi National Park we
drive to the Mashi river. Overnight camping at Nambwa.
Day 09: Game driving along the Mashi river. This area is rich in
wildlife. Overnight camping at Nambwa.
Day 10: Today we reach the Mamili National Park, which is one of
the nicest Parks in Africa, nestled into the side channels and narrow waterways
of the Kwando. This area is also called "Little Okavango Delta" and
has escaped the attention of visitors. Overnight camping.
Day 11: The day will be spend with game viewing walks. Overnight
camping.
Day 12: Today we enter Botswana at the border post of Ngoma. Camp will
be set up at Serondella, situated on the Chobe river. Game drives along the
river reveals a rich wild life.
Day 13: Game drives and game watching along the river. Overnight
camping at Serondella.
Day 14: The second largest water fall on earth, the Victoria Falls,
welcomes you today. Sightseeing of the town and the falls. Overnight at one of
the pretty local lodges.
Day 15: The morning can be spend with last minute souvenir shopping.
Transfer to the airport around lunch time for your departure flight.
Code GS. Gai - As safari
Itinerary of the 5 days safari - Gai - As
Day 01: The safari starts in Swakopmund after breakfast from your
hotel. We drive to Messum crater, a natural mountainous crater. A very lonely, but
exquisite landscape unfolds. Through the Messum river with uncountable
Welwitschia mirabilis, one of the oldest living plants on earth, we arrive at
the Amis ravine, Brandberg, for overnight camping.
Day 02: Past the scenic Ugab terraces and past many species of
succulents we enter the Ugab river, the home of the black rhino, surviving
outside a national park. The 4x4 track takes us past Gai-As, with
mysterious huts to the canyons, where we will put up camp.
Day 03: A picturesque panorama stretches for miles and miles. You get
the feeling to be the only person in the world. Agates can be found. Different
species of game might come for a drink at the waterhole. Overnight camping in
the canyon.
Day 04: Awake to the smell of fresh coffee, bacon and eggs. The path
takes us through the lonely desert. Overnight camping in a seasonal riverbed.
Day 05: We drive through the famous Skeleton Coast Park to Cape Cross,
the largest seal colony in the southern hemisphere. Close photography is
possible. The Safari ends during the afternoon in Swakopmund.
Code ET. Etosha safari
Itinerary of the 4 days Etosha safari
Day 01: The safari starts after breakfast and we collect you from your
hotel in Swakopmund. We proceed via Usakos and Omaruru directly to the Etosha
Pan. This National Park is known worldwide for its rich game life. Species like
Oryx, kudu, springbok, zebra, giraffe and many more can be seen while we do game
drives. Overnight at the Rest Camp of Okaukuejo.
Day 02: Game drives. Overnight at Okaukuejo which offers besides a
refreshing swimming pool also a floodlit waterhole. Elephant, Rhinoceros and
lion are regular night visitors.
Day 03: Game drives. The colourful world of small and large birds is
fascinating. Overnight at Okaukuejo.
Day 04: We drive via Outjo and Omaruru to Swakopmund where the Safari
ends during the afternoon.
Code SO. Sossusvlei safari
Itinerary of the 3 days safari to Sossusvlei
Day 01: The safari starts in Swakopmund and we collect you after
a breakfast from your hotel. We proceed to Walvis Bay,
where Namibia's only deep sea harbour is situated. The lagoon shows seasonal
seabirds from all over the world. Whilst driving you can relax and enjoy the
colourful, constantly changing landscape of the Namib. Game like ostrich, Oryx,
springbok and ground squirrels may be seen. The sociable weavers gigantic nests
hang in the Camelthorn trees along the road side. Camping at Sesriem.
Day 02: Before sunrise we drive into Sossusvlei to enjoy the highest
dunes in the world. You can enjoy a sunrise as well as a sunset in the dunes. Sightseeing
of the Sesriem Canyon (six ropes were used in the early days to pull up
a bucket of water). Camping at Sesriem. There is a possibility to see the Cape
Fox at night.
Day 03: Optional and not included in our prices - a ride at dawn in an
exhilarating hot air balloon - entering into the immensity of the Namib Desert
painted by the rising sun... We proceed to Kuiseb Canyon. The caves, where two
war fugitives sheltered in fear of internment will be visited. Through the
gypsum plains of the Namib desert and past various waterholes the Safari ends
during the afternoon in Swakopmund.
Code ND. Namib tour
Itinerary of the 3 days safari into the Namib Desert
Day 01: The safari starts after breakfast from your hotel in
Swakopmund. We drive via the ''moon landscape'' into the Namib Naukluft Park, being
Namibia's largest National Park. "Dead" plants rapidly become lively
and green when given water. We'll put up camp at the foot of "Bloedkoppe"
mountain. Enjoy the fascinating colours of the sunset.
Day 02: On our journey to the plains of "Tinkas" we might
encounter Springbok, Oryx and Ostriches. A walk in Tinkas plains reveals that
the Namib desert is alive. Many different insects lead a hectic life. After a
shower of rain the desert fauna and flora explodes. During midday we drive into
the Swakop river and set up camp in a nice gorge.
Day 03: Bizarre looking rock formations indicate the age of the desert,
which is estimated at 60 million years. The "living stones", quiver trees
and the indigenous Welwitschia plants florist in the Namib desert. The Swakop
river is also home to different game, e.g., the shy klipspringer, baboons and
kudu. After a visit at the dunes the safari ends during the afternoon in
Swakopmund.
Code XT. Welwitschia tour
Itinerary of the Namib Desert tour with overnight
Day 01: The safari starts after breakfast from your hotel in
Swakopmund. We proceed into the oldest living desert on earth, the Namib.
Different flora will be shown, e.g., the edible Nara plant. Taste the fruit of
this plant, from which generations of people lived and survived. An insight info
the ecology will be given. Possibility to view different species of game, e.g.,
the shy klipspringer, baboons, springboks, etc. We will set up camp in a shady
gorge.
Day 02: We drive through the river and past bizarre looking rocks to
the ''moon landscape''. After a visit to the dunes, we return to Swakopmund and the
safari ends during the late morning.
