Mashatu Game Reserve
Central Region

Main accommodation Botswana

Mashatu Game Reserve is located in the Tuli Block, a remote south eastern corner of Botswana. The area is often referred to 'The Land of the Giants' , because of the large Baobab trees that punctuate the landscape. Mashatu is the largest privately owned game reserve in Southern Africa - and is part of the Rattray Reserves Portfolio that also incorporates the Mala Mala, South Africa. The wildlife experience at Mashatu is personalised, with dedicated Tswana rangers and trackers keen to introduce you to their world. The Game Reserve is a place of exceptional beauty where one can explore the rugged, unspoilt African terrain with one of the Mashatu adventure safaris. Prides of lion, cheetah and leopard, as well as a variety of buck and smaller animals can also be found roaming the lands. Bird lovers will love Mashatu as over 350 species of birds may be seen on the Reserve. Two of Africa 's giants are found within the Reserve, namely the ancient, gigantic baobab trees as well as huge herds of elephant. Mashatu Game Reserve proudly provides a refuge for the largest, single population of elephant on privately owned land in Africa.
