Ilala Lodge Victoria Falls
Ilala Lodge located at Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe offers distinguished yet affordable accommodation in a gracious and secluded ambiance. The decor evokes a bygone era of adventure and the quest of discovery in Africa. The hotel is ideally situated and is the closest to the Victoria Falls as well as the town centre. The National Park borders the front of property and wild animals often graze on the hotel lawns with the spray of the falls in the background. Victoria Falls has a lot to offer the visitor and is known as Africa's adventure capital. From high adrenalin activities like bungi jumping and white water rafting to more sedate pastimes like fishing or elephant back safaris, Victoria Falls has it all. Ilala Lodge can book any activities for you and advise you on what is available. Some of the highlights are:
THE RA-IKANE: The Ra-Ikane is a small luxury cruise boat that is out-fitted to suggest, in exquisite detail, an ambiance of a bygone era. This cruise boat is exclusive and personalised and designed to compliment your stay with Ilala. Period decor, historic memorabilia, fine cuisine and refreshments characterize a level of comfort and grace unsurpassed on the Zambezi.
CROC FARM AND NATURE SANCTUARY: Visit our croc farm and get to see how we rear these reptiles from eggs to full adult crocodiles. The eggs hatch in about December or January so if you are here in those months ask to see them. Feeding times are a highlight and we recommend taking a guided tour with one of our experienced guides. Feeding time is at 10.15am to 10.30am and 3.45pm to 4.00pm daily. The nature sanctuary has many species of interesting animals such as lion, leopard and ostrich and there is a full leather workshop which sells its goods on site.
ZAMBEZI WILDLIFE SAFARIS: This is lodge's in house tour operator. Hosts can cater for any bookings or enquiries you might have. Some of the activities on offer are: white water rafting, river boarding, jet boat trips above and below the falls, horse rides, walk with the lions, golf, bush walks, game drives, day and overnight trips to Chobe (Botswana) and Hwange National Park, falls tours, village tours, bungi jumping, gorge swinging, elephant back safaris, helicopter and fixed wing scenic flights over the falls, microlight flights, fishing, bush dinners, canoe safaris and more.
