Be alone with your family and friends in this rustic and historic farmhouse, set amongst camel-thorn trees, anchored into the red sand dunes. Enjoy the magnificent views over the vast plains and ancient blue mountain ranges at your own pace, on the NamibRand Nature Reserve, one of Southern Africa's largest private nature reserves.

Set out on foot or by 4x4 into the dunes for a close encounter with the fascinating variety of Namibian desert wildlife. The kids will love the dune-boarding, wide open spaces and fresh air. Let your senses come alive again, in the colour-rich silence of the sunset, or around an open fire under a billion-star sky. The NamibRand Family Hideout is a recently rejuvenated old farmhouse, situated on the NamibRand Nature Reserve on the farm Stellarine. It lies about 5 hours' drive south-west of Windhoek, and about 110 km south of Sossusvlei, Namibia, accessible in a normal 2x4 vehicle. Drive either via Maltahöhe or Sesriem to the D826/C27, then take the Tok Tokkie Trails turn-off (400m north of the intersection with the D827) and drive 11 km.
