Once you have experience our wild life in their natural habitat, you will understand why we believe that when you visit our lodge, you must be very close to heaven....

Namibia is the country to begin your African journey. The daily life is very European, but when in nature, you realize that you are away from the fast lane of life.

The food and drinks, as well as the experience to sit next to an open fire and smell that Steak, or Oryx, sizzling on the coals, are palatable to European standards.

Location

Ugab Terrace Lodge is situated in the heart of the best tourism country approximately 430 km from Windhoek. The lodge is situated on the C39 road west of Outjo towards the direction Khorixas. After approximately 90 km turn left onto the D2743 for 13 km.
We are an excellent stop over on your way to Damaraland on route to the well known Kaokoland. We offer enough adventurous activities for you to stay at least 2-3 days and to enjoy the spectacular area and surroundings with family and friends.

Restaurant

We offer a Restaurant with divine food and a bar overlooking the Rock Vinger and beautiful Ugab Terraces valley.

Accommodation

Ugab Terrace Lodge accommodates 32 guests in 16 Chalets, allowing maximum privacy and attention at all times. The accommodation at Ugab Terrace Lodge has been designed with comfort in mind, despite the fact that guests spend most of the time outside.

The Chalet includes two beds for two adults per chalet but for minor children we have additional arrangements.

All chalets have a shower and toilet and cupboard and have a balcony situated on a terrace and allowing the visitor a breathtaking view on the Ugab Terrace. Picture yourself on the verandah, sipping your favorite drink and experience the unbelievable view or take part in our activities. The peace and tranquility will take away the city rush, and allow you to once again look forward to a daily wonder, the sun rising and setting.

Artfully decorated walls and indigenous furniture create a warm and welcoming feeling. The ceiling of each room is decorated with wood to create that warm African look and feel. This is not only very decorative, but an insulation wonder to ensure cool and warm climate control in the chalet.

Please note: due to the fact that we generate our own electricity, our rooms do not have air-conditioning but are equipped with ceiling fans.

Camping

We have 3 stand alone campsites where you can park your RV or construct your own camp. The campsites are situated against the incline at the foot of a hill overlooking the Ugab terraces and valley.

The campsites are approximately 40 meters apart from each other with shading by Mopani trees and large rocks.

Each campsite has got a braai with basin and fresh water.

3 campsites share a ablution-block, consisting out of 3 WC`s (toilets) and 3 showers with hot water.

Unfortunately there are no power points.

Swimming pool

We have a beautiful splash pool to cool off from the Namibian heat (maximum depth 1.25 meters)

Activities

Walking Trails

We offer different types of guided Walking Trails from Novice, Intermediate and Adventures level.

All trails are clearly marked and vary from 5 km (2.5 hours) to 10 km (4.5 hours), through the most beautiful scenic terrain. Your camera is a “must” for this adventure.

Zip line

We have the 15th longest zip line in the world with 2 lines, 950 meters (3116 feet) and 650 meters (2132 Feet) respectively with a drop of 50 meters (164 feet). This is a unique adventure, carefully calculated for all ages.

Mountain Bike Trails

We offer different levels of mountain biking trails pinned by the well-known Mannie Heymans whom has represented Namibia at numerous occasions as a cyclist at the All-Africa Games as well as the Summer Olympics. He was awarded as Namibian Sportsman of the Year in 2000.

Please note: We do not supply the Mountain bikes, ONLY the trails.

Nature Drives

We offer 2 types of nature drives, each approximately 2 Hours long with an option of a Bush lunch.

The nature drives include a visit to the historical Rock Finger(Vinger Klip) and various scenic places surrounding the lodge (guided).

Bush lunch

We offer a Light lunch or Traditional bush lunch.

Stargazing

With billions of stars in the Universe our open an unpolluted sky offers an amazing Stargazing as an activity at night with an excellent spot for Stargazing and use the Celestron Sky Prodigy 6 telescope to involve the first timers and the intermediate gazers (guided).

At Ugab Terrace Lodge hosts cater for those who would like to stay in the luxury of a well furnished bungalow, or in a tastefully furnished luxury tent erected on a platform, or camp with your own camping gear at the campsite.

All meals can be enjoyed in the tastefully furnished restaurant. The chefs prepare delicious meals with fresh vegetables and salads in season and your taste buds will be spoilt with the aromatic ingredients from the herb garden.

You can either enjoy the sunset at your bungalow, or sit with a sundowner in the lounge or bar, which also features a fireplace and typical open fire for those cool winter evenings.

After a hot day on horseback, hiking trail or mountain bike, enjoy the cool water of the swimming pool craftily built into the terrace to harmonically match the rocks and surroundings.

At Ugab Terrace Lodge hosts believe that the devil is in the detail. There is a Curio Shop where you can buy local artifacts to remind you of your time at the lodge and in Namibia.
