Mount Etjo Safari Lodge |
Mount
Etjo Safari Lodge is located within the Okonjati Wildlife Sanctuary, which was founded by
famous conservationist
Jan Oelofse during the early seventies.
The lodge is situated approximately
180 km north of Windhoek in one of the most scenic parts
of Namibia, where guests can come into close contact with nature itself. Hundreds of
species of birds and mammals can be sighted here, including elephant, black and
white rhino, hippo, giraffe and numerous antelopes ranging from the majestic
Kudu to the diminutive Damaraland Dik-Dik. Predators, such as lion, leopard and
cheetah also roam this area. Game viewing is conducted from open safari vehicles
and on foot, accompanied by experienced guides.
"Etjo" means a place of refuge. The guest is accommodated in natural
surroundings, having the option to stay in our Rhino Lodge, which is more for
the visitor who likes peace and quietness of nature or our Main Lodge. Rooms are
furnished comfortable, with en-suite toilet and bath facilities and a number of
rooms in our Main Lodge are equipped with their own private Jacuzzis. Our Main
Lodge with a swimming pool and garden area overlooks a waterhole, where many
animals, including hippo can be observed.
Accessed by road or air, share in Namibia's
natural beauty at Mount Etjo.
Accommodation
options at the Main Lodge include a private apartment furnished with king-size
bed, en-suite bathroom with round bathtub, private dining room and lounge as
well as a private garden with whirlpool. Other rooms in the Main Lodge are
furnished with two double beds or a king size bed and have en-suite shower and
toilet facilities.
If you prefer the peace and quiet of nature, then a good option would be to stay
at Rhino Lodge, situated in the heart of the Mount Etjo Game Sanctuary. Rhino
Lodge has eight wooden cottages, comfortably furnished with wall-to-wall

There is also a camp site overlooking the waterhole, each site with its own
